A "warm and welcoming" staff greets guests in the "nicely decorated" lobby of this retreat "close" to wine country, several dining areas and a mall; "well-appointed", "funky" rooms offer "comfortable beds", "plasma TVs" and "complimentary bottled water" and there's a "wonderful" menu in the restaurant, though a few find it "expensive."

Small rooms. Very small bathrooms. Not as clean as I expected.
The hotel is in a great location for conducting business in San Rafael. Room was small.The bathroom was very small and the hotel in general was not as clean as it should be.

Convenient access to freeways shopping and restaurants/has a very attractive pool and grounds.
The facility is somewhat dated but in good repair overall.
Very helpful and friendly staff and a good value I enjoyed the restful atmosphere.

On arrival, the room smelled like a smoking room. I was told this was a non-smoking room and the clerk offered air freshener which I declined - he then told me not to worry, they wouldn't charge me extra for the odor! The motel was not comparable to my expectations based on past stays at a comparable bid.
